One page pitch- Walking Away by Haim
Main idea:
Conflict with inner self, trying the getaway (walking away)
from her darker side. Clips of the band playing in a stereotypical setup are
featured throughout. At the chorus the main singer is the walking away from the
camera, this is filmed at different locations where is flicks between the main
character and inner self. This is also slowed down.
Main concept of the main singer drawing around her feet in
chalk and when she walks away leaves her footprints. This is a symbol of the
album so the audience recognises it, it will also feature on the back of our
album cover.
Features a range of clips of the main singer fighting with
the darker self at various locations to show how it happens all the time and
when she least expects it, it is a constant occurrence.
Target audience:
Teenage girls because it’s a girl band so the audience can
relate and look up to the band members as idols.
Aesthetics and visuals:
Juxtaposing colours
with the bright whites and the dark low saturation's to symbolise the two
different sides to the girl.
Setting/locations:
Abandoned factory, bedroom, bridges, streets, fields, woods,
castle, jitty, Hardwick Hall, pond, train station etc.
Appeal:
Appeal:
Our product company is called KEK productions which aim to
raise awareness so mental health. Therefore our music video highlights the
ongoing battles people face on a daily basis and how people are scared and
refuse to speak out to gain help, so suffer daily as a consequent. This is why
it is targeted at teenage girls as there is a lot of stress within the media of
how girls should look, act and be a certain way, which causes the build-up of
pressure and the arousal of such mental health issues. The editing techniques
we will use are unconventional because it represents how mental health issues
are unpredictable and not smooth flowing.
Skills:
When the darker self is on screen the opacity needs to be
lowered to create a ghost like effect. Furthermore the continuity and match on
action needs to be accurate especially when creating the montage for the
chorus.
